Tahini Dressings

I think tahini has saved me many times over when it comes to eating RAW food and having that rich, comfort factor in it. For a lot of us, dressings are really a huge deal and if the salad or wrap is lacking in that area we are less likely to eat them over and over. At least I have found that in my life. So I have created a few tahini based dressings that are just so tasty and a great addition to ANY food! And the BEST part is they are all OIL FREE! You can always add or take away any spices you like. Here are just a few of my favorites.

Directions for all:
**If you want to make a bigger batch just double, triple, quadruple the recipe!**
  1. Add the tahini, lemon juice, maple syrup & spices in a small bowl and mix until incorporated. Slowly add in the water ONE TBSP at a time to thin out. I usually use about 1/4 cup water. You want it to be thick like a ranch dressing but not like a dip. But do it to your desired consistency. You can also add to a small blender instead of doing it by hand if you want. Add more spices as needed. SIDE NOTE: the maple syrup balances out the bitter taste of the tahini. You can also sub agave or coconut nectar here if you want.

Simple Tahini:
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • water to thin
Garlic Herb Tahini:
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1 tsp basil
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp maple syrup
  • 2 Tbsp lemon/lime juice
  • water to thin
Lime Chipotle Tahini:
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 2 Tbsp lime juice (1 lime)
  • 1 tsp chipotle powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/2 tsp maple syrup
  • water to thin
Herb Tahini:
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 1 Tbsp parsley
  • 1 Tbsp dill
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onion
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
  • (This one would be best if you put in a blender!)
Chipotle Lime Dill Tahini:
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 2 Tbsp lime juice, (1 lime)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp chipotle powder
  • 1 Tbsp dill
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • water to thin
Tex Mex Tahini:
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 2 Tbsp lime juice, (1 lime)
  • 2 tsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • water to thin

    Here you will find recipes either created by me or from ones I have found and changed up to my liking. I try to use ingredients that are usually 95% organic (lessen that toxic load!), very little unrefined sugars used and the majority of these are GLUTEN FREE.
