You know sometimes store bough plant based milks can get expensive! They are usually over $3 a pop and be used up pretty quickly. Especially with kids! I have decided to make my own and found that making my own nut milks, although delicious, are extremely expensive to do! Coconut, on the other hand is way more doable! Almonds can be up to $20 a pound where coconut shreds are usually about $4 a pound, or even cheaper if you don't buy organic! So this recipe only costs me about $2! And it is free of all additives and gums! WIN! This recipe makes about 32 oz of coconut milk so it really comes out super cheap and budget friendly!
You can do this sweetened with dates or some liquid sweetener or you can opt for unsweetened. BOTH are yummy! INGREDIENTS:

Thank you SO much for posting this recipe! I was just thinking today about how expensive store bought coconut milk is and I wondered if I could make my own. I was so excited when I saw your post about this on instagram:) This Thursday will be one month since I went vegan and I want to thank you for sharing such inspiring, helpful, and delicious content!

One of the biggest drawback to become vegan is dairy and I can’t thank you enough for encouraging so many to acknowledge the potential of plant based diets, along with caring for other beings.. these are such super awesome replacements to dairy !!

HAPPY RECIPE SEARCHING!Here you will find recipes either created by me or from ones I have found and changed up to my liking. I try to use ingredients that are usually 95% organic (lessen that toxic load!), very little unrefined sugars used and the majority of these are GLUTEN FREE. We eat legumes, grains, nuts, seeds, grass fed organic meats, pasture raised eggs, very small amounts of organic dairy, and lots of fruits and veggies! You can always change up the recipes to fit your lifestyle or taste buds! Thanks for supporting me and my art through food! |
