Cassava Flour Tortillas/Flat Bread

Welcome to the world of GRAIN FREE bready goodness!! Ahhhh cassava! This has been such a touchy flour for me and only has worked in very little experiments. Except this. This is perfection. Not EVEN exaggerating! These tortillas are actually kind of like a flat bread instead of a thin tortilla in my  opinion. They bend very well, they can hold anything, they taste delicious and I'm never buying store bought again! I upped my game with a new tortilla press I got on Amazon for $20 too! You can find both cassava flour and tortilla presses online and a decent price! Enjoy!

Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups cassava flour
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1 cup warm water
  • ​1/2 tsp salt
Directions:
  1. Mix the flour and salt in a bowl. Add the oil and water and knead with your hand for a minute to get it into a nice ball of dough. Add a little extra water of it is dry.
  2. With your hands, make balls, I usually get about 10. Roll out with a rolling pin or use a tortilla press.
  3. Heat a nonstick pan on medium heat and when hot, add tortilla.
  4. Cook for about 4 minutes each side, allowing to brown a bit.
  5. Remove from heat and EAT!
