I LOVE essential oil. Like LOVE LOVE. I have used them every single day for over 3 years now. I swear there's an oil for everything!! I used to be strictly Young Living until I just couldn't keep up with the prices and honestly there are a lot of great oil companies out there! I choose to use Plant Therapy because it is not an MLM, I'm not trying to sell you anything. I love that they are a small family business and that they offer a lot of organic oils!

If you are like me, for years anxiety & worry riddled my life. Depression sometimes snuck in, brain fog, intense worry, fear, all those mind games and life changers took hold of my life. I sometimes couldn’t leave my house, I was worried about my kids getting hurt 24/7, I couldn’t sleep, I had horrible physical symptoms because of my anxiety and I couldn’t keep any relationships going. It took over most of my life. I was not on any medications for years because I didn’t want to take something that could potentially cause other issues. For me personally, I just didn’t take anything, not even Tylenol. So, in 2013 I was introduced to essential oils and decided I’d try to naturally help my emotional & mental state. I can’t even tell you how much it has helped me over the years. I believe with a whole foods plant based diet, stress reduction with self care and a holistic approach to healing, anything can be conquered and you can overcome any health situation put in front of you! The oils I have pictured are SOME of the ones I use but not limited to only them. I will list some others that I don’t have on hand but have helped me as well.

The oils I use to support my emotional and mental well being:
  • Patchouli: “Hippie in a bottle”, one of my favorites! This enhances mood, stimulates hormones, fights depression, creates atmosphere of tranquility. Apply a couple drops to the back of the neck to reduce stress, diffuse a couple drops with peppermint for calming effects, add a drop to each wrist.
  • Dragon Time: Ingredients: clary sage, lavender, fennel, jasmine, marjoram, and yarrow. PMS oil! Balances emotions & mood swings, supports hormonal headaches, relieves menstrual cramps & PMS symptoms. Mix a few drops with coconut oil and massage over abdomen then use a warm compress, diffuse up to 3 times a day, put a few drops in bath water, apply to wrists or behind the ears.
  • Joy: Ingredients are bergamot, ylang ylang, geranium, lemon, coriander, tangerine, jasmine, roman chamomile, palmarosa and rose. Apply on wrists, over the heart or behind the ears. Supports emotions, libido and uplifts spirits.
  • Lemongrass: Relieves anxiety, irritability and insomnia. Can also relieve muscle spasms, back aches and cramps. Also has been effective is relieving tension headache pain. Add a couple drops to coconut oil and use as a massage, massage 1 drop on each temple, add 3-5 drops to epsom salt for a bath, diffuse up to 3 times a day and add to wrists to calm emotions.
  • Lavender: The benefits from lavender are VAST! A few things it can help with ~stress, sleep, calms nerves, relieves headaches. Rub a couple drops on the bottom of feet, add a couple drops to coconut oil and massage, put 5-10 drops in epsom salt for a calming bath, diffuse with other oils for a stress reducing aromatic heaven.
  • Orange: Balances hormones, helps you focus, uplifting and calming of the nerves. Use 2 drops at the base of the neck, 1 drop on each wrist, diffuse up to 3 times a day, add a couple drops to an epsom salt bath.
  • Palmarosa: Reduces stress, soothes the mind, calms the nervous system & stabilizes the heart. This one also helps with libido! For a calming bath add a couple drops in addition to orange and lavender oils. Diffuse with lavender oil for stress reducing. Apply to the back of the ears.
  • Basil: Promotes focus, lessens anxiety, supports PMS, reduces tension. Combine with wintergreen for a calming massage, apply to back of neck and temples, diffuse a couple drops to promote calm.
  • Cedarwood: This is known as the melatonin oil as it promotes a restful sleep. It can also help relieve anxiety and nervous tension. Diffuse at night, put a drop on each big toe to promote sleep, put a drop on each wrist for anxiety.
  • Release: Ingredients: Ylang ylang, Olive oil, lavender, Geranium, Royal Hawaiian sandalwood, Grapefruit, Tangerine, Spearmint, Lemon, Blue cypress, Davana, Kaffir lime, Ocotea, Jasmine, Matricaria, Blue tansy & Rose. This is a blend with a relaxing aroma that facilitates the ability to let go of anger, negative feelings and frustration. It also promotes harmony and balance when diffused. Apply a couple drops on wrist or behind neck. Diffuse up to 3 times a day.
  • Clarity: Ingredients: basil, cardamom, rosemary, peppermint, rosewood, geranium, lemon, palmarosa, ylang ylang, bergamot, roman chamomile and jasmine. • Stress Away: Ingredients: copaiba, lime, cedarwood, vanilla, ocotea & lavender. Brings a sense of peace and tranquility. Apply to wrists and back of neck to reduce stress, add a couple drops to epsom salt for a calming bath.
  • Ylang Ylang: Emotional harmonizer, stress buster, heart calmer, and nerve balancer. Apply a few drops to your wrists or over your heart and diffuse up to 3 times a day.
  • Bergamot: Helps with depression, stimulates hormones, relieves self judgement and despair. Apply to the back of the neck, wrists and bottoms of feet. Diffusing with lemon and lavender is very calming and pleasant.
  • Frankincense: The uses are large with this one but anxiety is a big one! It helps to calm the nervous system, promoting relief from anxiety and depression. Apply to the temples or the back of the neck, diffuse up to 3 times a day.

These are my FAVORITE, go to helpers in my emotional time of need. One of my favorite things to do is take hot epsom baths with some oils to promote a state of calm and relaxation. Always diffuse them and put them on your wrists and behind the ears for added support!
